Therapy or Coaching?
Key Differences:
Therapy
Therapy focuses on healing and understanding how your history is impacting your present and future.
Therapy helps with emotional, psychological, and mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and trauma
The goal is to reduce symptoms, improve functioning, and to gain insight
Is often a service covered by or assisted by your health insurance
Coaching
Coaching focuses on growth, action, and future goals
Coaching helps with motivation, clarity, performance, and reaching your potential
The goal is to move forward, set goals, and to achieve results
Coaching may be beneficial when you do not have insurance, or have a high deductible health care plan as coaching can be less expensive in many cases as it does not involve a mental health assessment, diagnosis, or filings with an insurance company.
